After puking on the plane from JFK, through Atlanta, an emergency stop in Jackson, Mississippi for someone suffering from an anxiety attack on their first flight, and finally arriving in Dallas an hour and a half late........I got to hug my Cupcake Princess. Dinner served on the flight from Edinburgh disagreed with her.........she'll never eat spinach pizza again! It is so good to have her home. The house is full of life again. Unfortunately, it's a week before school starts so teachers are back in school........this prep week is always stressful and too full.....but I'm leaving as fast as I can each day to spend the evenings with the CP. LIfe has just picked up speed again and I'm not ready for it...........I need a summer vacation to get over my summer vacation!

Poor Cupcake! There's nothing worse than throwing up on a plane!
Can you believe how fast the summer went?! Did you ever get to McKinney? If not, or even if you did, we should try to get together one Saturday and I'll show you around the square.
Glad that she is home, safe and sound and I'm sure she has a million stories to to share with you.
I'm sorry the flight home was so rough and that she's recovered!!
Enjoy your time together before you both re-enter the fray of every day life!
So good to hear that your CP is safely home again. Too bad she had to get ill during the flight!
My daughter came home an hour ago. Only now did she tell me that she actually was at Madrid airport, hers was one of the last planes allowed to land after the accident. There by the grace of God. One needs to be grateful for every good day.
May your school year be a good one! And yes, summer's always gone so quickly. I am trying to hang on to every sunny day. So far, one gorgeous late summer day follows the next here.

I don't know WHERE the summer went! Saddly, I didn't make it to McKinney, but it's on my fall Saturday schedule. When the weather cools a bit, I'd love to have you show me around the town square!
Sherry:
After the CP got home, we spent a few days just hanging out together and catching up. It was a wonderful time together. School started today so there will be a lot less time for mother/daughter time. Only a year left and then she's off to college....every moment has got to count. :)
Merisi:
So glad your daughter wasn't traveling on that flight out of Madrid. I'm sure there were a few tense moments for you and your family that day. Yes, school has started but I can always "run away" to your site and pretend I'm back in Vienna! :)
Oh your poor baby, I hope she is feeling better. Now you can sleep at night, right? I always sleep better when the kids are home. My dear sweet Allie, take a deep breath, and enjoy your time right now moment by moment!
Hugs,
Teresa

Oh, I agree completely! I sleep much better when I know she's home. Her first night back, I slept like a rock....woke up in the same position I fell asleep in. Funny, one of her phone calls from Scotland ended with, "I just wanted to hear your voice. I was feeling a little homesick and I'm missing my mom."......that will pull your heart strings! But it reassured me that even though she is stretching her wings, she still appreciates "home".
When you get a chance come by and pick up your award! Yep, an award! :)
