Or so I've been told. I certainly feel like I'm testing this theory this month. I'm within about 2 more weeks of being finished with grad school and this last course is a doozy. Teaching school isn't as easy as one might think. Besides the every day duties, I'm coaching our Lone Star Challenge team (it's kind of like an Academic Decathalon team for elementary kids) and I've taken over a group of 12 5th graders to try to get them prepared for our state exam in math. My poor house is a wreck, I have a guest room/office/craft room that MUST be cleaned up, I have lots of great magazines to get caught up on, I've started reading a new book, my best friend gave me some cool stamps with cupcakes on them and lots of fun glitter and different ink pads to try, I've got some snail mail correspondence to catch up on, and the list can go on and on and on....... Spring Break is less than 24 hours away........YES!!!
Here's what we do as teachers to keep our sanity before spring break, in the midst of all of the state testing and federal accountability nonsense.
This is an inspiration board that I made last fall to help me stay focused on why I'm working on completing my master's degree in Educational Administration. One day, I would like to live and work in Germany, Italy, or Austria. I'm hoping that with the degree and the experience of being an elementary teacher and eventually a principal, I'll be able to make that dream come true one day. I've been looking at this board a LOT this month.
When times get tough, what inspires you to keep moving forward?
